Speech Therapist
Emily Berriochoa MS, CCC-SLP
Emily has 11 years of experience as an SLP and has worked in nearly every setting of speech therapy. She feels so lucky to do this job! She has experience in working with children and adults on speech, language, cognition, communication, augmentative alternative communication, voice, swallowing and feeding skills. At the end of the day, the joy of little children wins every time. Knowing that we learn best when we're having fun, she utilizes a child-led, play-based approach. With her warm and energetic approach, Emily creates an engaging and nurturing environment centered around the child's strengths and interests. She is thrilled to give parents tools to help their child make gains along their communication journey. Emily is a proud University of Utah graduate (go Utes!) in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She speaks Spanish and is currently licensed in Utah, Idaho, and California and is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Emily is a loving wife and mother of two. She is a cancer survivor and not a stranger to the struggles of treatment and recovery. She thrives off of offering hope and enriching others' lives. In her free time, you could find Emily on the mountainside or writing mediocre break-up songs.
