Thomas J. Hopkins, PhD, MD

Prior to pursuing his MD, Dr. Thomas Hopkins succeeded in obtaining a Medical PhD with a full scholarship Summa Cum Laude – specializing in Tumor Gene regulation. His research traversed between The Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories, Brookhaven National Laboratories, Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the Medical School at State University of New York-Stony Brook. Dr. Hopkins obtained his Medical Degree through Rush Medical College in Chicago. While a Medical Student, he was also appointed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology. He received Orthopaedic training jointly between the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. His Ohio State University time period facilitated his research, for which he was awarded lifetime tenure in the Robert M. Zollinger Surgical Society as well as the Mallory-Coleman Research Society Award.
